The course is an experiential intensive training programme, for people wanting to facilitate groups for perpetrators of domestic violence.
The topics covered will include:
- Understanding domestic violence
- Challenging denial minimisation and blame
- Children and domestic violence
Understanding why men abuse
- Understanding masculinity - men and emotions, power, self esteem and shame
- Working with sexual abuse
- Developing victim empathy
- Using role play and drama
- Choosing appropriate programme content
- Skills practice
- Effects on practitioners - appropriate support and supervision
- Multi - agency working
