Groups

STOP is a rolling programme in which you can start or leave at any stage but we strongly recommend that you attend for at least twelve months

STOP work with seven different levels of abuse:

Physical | Verbal | Emotional | Psychological | Sexual | Spiritual | Financial |

And we cover the following areas:

Power and Control | The roots of anger |
Anger controlling techniques |
Dealing with irrational beliefs | Assertiveness training | Re-building constructive relationships | Alienation |
The path to empathy

For more details about the groups click here.

Are you violent or abusive? Do you have problems managing your temper? Do you frighten people you care about?

What is violence?

Any act that hurts someone else (either: physical, emotional, psychological, verbal, spiritual, sexual or financial) or forces them to do what you want. Constant verbal abuse and name calling can be felt as strongly as physical abuse.

If you have done any of these you have behaved violently or abusively.

Am I abusive / violent?

If you have to ask this question then the answer is probably yes.

Why should I stop being violent?

Though it may make you feel powerful, the consequences are that people will turn away from you, especially those closest to you.

How can I stop?

The first thing for you to realise is that you are responsible for your behaviour.

It is in your power to make this choice a reality.

What is the next step?
